I will buy a French dictionary

This has been ellefnuJy
I've always loved learning languages. Being a Filipino, I'd love to learn all the 8 major languages in the country - Tagalog, Cebuano, Hiligaynon, Ilocano, Bicolano, Pangasinense, Waray and I forgot.. the first three of course are the major languages I am using everyday. Tagalog or Filipino has the bulk of my conversations since I am studying in Manila which major language is Tagalog. Furthermore, Manila has the most diverse people, as people from the provinces take a leap for a "better" future in the Capital. Hiligaynon is my mother tongue. I grew up in a community full of Hiligaynon speakers. As for Cebuano, it is the family's (meaning including my greatgrandparents) mother tongue. Most of the people from Mindanao (our place) came from the Visayas region, so there is the dominance of Cebuano and Hiligaynon speakers.of course, English will always be in the converstion. We, Bisaya or Mindanaoans, I believe, has known more English words than Filipino words. well, it might be because, as we entered school, English is the medium of instruction and all the books are in English. We only had Filipino subject when we reached Grade 1.

So, What about French? French is my dream language; I guess most of us are. Even if not so, I believe the French language has caught every attention as it is considered, if not, one of the most romantic languages in the world. So, I'm really interested in learning it. I guess that would be easy for me (I thought). because I love the language.

But now, everything changed. I don't only love the language but I also love to minister to the people. everything changed. before, I was only this girl aspiring to enter in one of the best medical schools here in the Philippines and become a medical doctor. but now, I went back to my previous plan - to become a missionary medical doctor. Everything changed. I want to study medicine in France. I haven't heard anything about their medical schools yet but I believe they are as good as others.

before, I was only planning to take a French subject. But now, I will be taking A French Subject next sem. i hope my schedule would allow me to do such. You know, it really triggered me when my small group leader as well as friend messaged me about a planned 10-day mission of our church to France. I want to be one of the short-term missionaries. I believe this is God impressing me of His move in my life; I also need a vision from Him. So, I really want to be in the team. I want and need to be trained and molded.

so, this is why I will buy a French Dictionary.

just enjoy!

unconditional LOVE #1: Blind me with Your Love

This has been ellefnuJy
with my academics and quiet time on the rocks, I can't help but write this long note. this was written while hearing a report on our 115 class, just today (october 1, 2010)

How can they see You in me
When all I've done was failure in their eyes?
It does not glorify You
Nor was it pleasing to Your eyes

So how can I give back to you?
I want to bring souls to your feet
but I cannot
Because they see my unlovely performance

I believe I am in Your hands
But why doesn't my life reflect your greatness?
Am I just a fake daughter?
or my salvation wasn't true?

I don't question Your Holiness,
nor Your Glory, nor You
But I'm questioning myself.
Did I just fail in transforming into Your likeness?
Or did You just move far from me -
that now, I'm continually sinning?

Sins whuch I cannot turn back from
when I know it doesn't glorify You
Sins that my flesh does, over and over again

You let me choose
and I choose You completely
But why am I still in sins bondage?

Hnestly, there were times
when I tried to run away from You
because of my failing academics.
But whenever i think about it,
I get rebuked immediately
Because I know and believe
that You are there,
holding me back.

Lord, Here is the cry of my heart
that my whole life be Yours, and Yours alone
that sin will be no more
That You may be glorified
in all the aspects of my life
Guide me, help me choose you over the others - sin.

Blind me with Your love
That I won't see any other master other than
YOU

the SEM

This has been ellefnuJy
pushing through. that was how i used to describe myself when it comes to my course and the time i need to stay in college. i can't help but to take advance subjects just to make it until october 2011 only, then work for a while and head straight to med school.

and hey here comes the sem. as they say, for some of us, the Super Sem!!! with all our OJT and affiliation requirements, we can only give our free time during the day and our weekends in order to meet them.

i also got accepted as a Resident Assistant in Kalayaan Residence Hall, the only Freshie dorm in the university. it added 12 hours to my already hectic schedule. anyway, as far as i'm concerned i really enjoy this RA experience and therefore I resolve to renew til first sem next year if the OSH allows me.

so the super sem, most probably, should add wrinkles, spots and pimple marks on my face. it should also help me lose weight. well, it turns the other way around (except for the weight loss which I think is happening, I'm losing weight! yeah!). Most of my friends compliments me of being such a happy girl, blooming nga raw. it might be because of the hair factor which is newly rebonded. but it is really because of GOD who put in me the strength and the Joy to do all the things that I have to do. of course, there are some which i don't wanna do or I have doubts and confusion. in the end, it's all about God. I thank Him for molding me this way.

honestly, my exam scores do not look good nor the scores of some of my papers. but I'm still holding on. and I know that God won't let me fail.

two things i really don't like about this sem are: 1) lack of sleep and rest or a disturbed sleeping pattern and 2) missing on my QQT...

As I write at this wee hour in the morning, I can only think of my Father, my Dydda, who is my strength and can do all things for me.

He is true to me. and He is to you too. Let HIM!

Happy Papa's day!

This has been ellefnuJy
HAPPY father's day to LOLO BERTO, LOLO TIBUR, Papa, Tito Orlan, Tito Joc-Joc, Tito Robert, Tito Fred, Tito Nats, Tito Toto, Tito Nonoy, Uncle Rolly, Tito Junior, Uncle Danilo, Tito Noning, Uncle Along and Uncle Mario!

Everyone knew that today is father's day. But I and my friends were confused. We thought it was last week. so, I greeted my father and I got an immediate thank you. Then, I was convinced that last Sunday wasn't father's day.

But just thinking about how many father's day and mother's day I've missed because I wasn't with them to celebrate it personally, it made me more eager for the day to come. and that explains what happened last week.

and so, while the day was still approaching, I think about Papa and the whole family more and more. I kept on looking at the pictures on my cabinet and even resolved, while watching "Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo", that Papa looks like the handsome Albert Martinez which my housemates agreed. (Pa, sikat ka na! hahaha)

I resolved to greet Papa again; this time, I'm calling. He's absolutely a man after God's heart.

I love Papa and also, Lolo Berto and Lolo Tibur. I only wish Lolo Tibur is still here; I miss him. I love my Titos as well who are equally loving and supportive (and good cooks!!! hehehe).

Happy Father's day to them and to all the Father's in the world. May God continually guide you as you lead your families. thank you for being Great Dads!!! wee!!

Yeah, today's tita Che's birthday also.

why I do things the way I do

This has been ellefnuJy
"oh be careful little hands what you do,
Oh be careful little feet where you go,
Oh be careful little tongue what you say
For the Father up above, He Is looking down with Love."

When I was young, I used to sing this song along with the cassette tape my mom bought for me. I guess this was one way of inculcating in me Christian values which I still have. And it is a really good way.

but sometimes, I do forget especially when my emotions top my head. i mean there's nothing wrong with entertaining your emotions, it's just that you really have to control it or great damage will happen.

So this is why I do the things I do. I'm so in Love with Christ that I don't want to hurt Him. I just want to keep His commands (John 14:15). And life is worth-living for!

On blogging

This has been ellefnuJy
"Peer Pressure." that would probably me years ago when asked about having a blog.

I kind of imagine myself as a writer but as much as I would like to become one, I ended up not to be one, so far. so having this blog for me is sort of my start for that dream (hehe). Blogging isn't new to me. I had a blog before but I post entries occasionally. In other words, kapag trip lang. I'm quite lazy when it comes to this because most of the time, I don't how to start (even with this entry). And blogging is just like a diary, but obviously their greatest difference is privacy. I'm keeping a diary. so why blog when I already have a diary? another outlet? yes, maybe. but my main reason of having this blog (and now, committing to maintain it) is to share wonderful experiences, realizations and reflections.

I'm also hoping and believing that, in one way or another, I get to help and/or inspire people who, by chance, have read some of my entries or even just a single one of them.

That's right, every single one of us has the urge of changing the world and making it a better place, as the popular song goes, even at the least that we can do. Everyone has that inkling feeling of reaching out to the world.

Lastly, i would like to end this entry by sharing this verse because I had been reflecting on ti for the past few days.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28

(by the way, this blog was first drafted while waiting for my MBB1 class.)
